Medical University of the Americas offers a Pre-Medical Program on its campus in Nevis that is specifically designed to address the missing elements in undergraduate pre-medical coursework. Pre-medical students work with the same faculty and in the same facilities as our medical students, ensuring a smooth transition into the Doctor of Medicine Basic Sciences program. In fact, graduates of the Pre-Medical Program are often among the top graduates of MUA’s medical program.
An incoming pre-medical class includes approximately 25-30 students, and students may enter in the September, January or May semester.
The MUA Pre-Medical Program is a comprehensive, two-semester program:
- MED 011 - Principles of General Chemistry
- MED 012 - Medical Terminology
- MED 013 - Human Anatomy & Physiology I
- MED 021 - Advanced Organic Chemistry
- MED 022 - Introduction to Cell Biology
- MED 023 - Human Anatomy & Physiology II
