As measured by the success of our graduates--the most important standard for any school--Medical University of the Americas has been extremely successful.
Since its founding in 1998, MUA has awarded approximately 500 graduates with a Doctor of Medicine degree.
Our graduates do extremely well on the critical USMLE Step 1 exam: in 2008, for example, the passing rate of MUA students on the USMLE Step 1 was over 90%. In addition, MUA students have obtained residency appointments in virtually every medical specialty and subspecialty at renowned teaching hospitals and leading medical centers across the U.S. and Canada. In a typical year, more than half of our students obtain residencies in fields outside of Family Medicine. A significant number are selected as Chief Residents and many pursue Fellowship (subspecialty) training following their residencies.
