Medical University of the Americas offers a comprehensive, 10-semester program for earning an M.D.
- The first five semesters focusing on the Basic Sciences take place on our campus on Nevis.
- The second five semesters--the Clinical portion of your medical education--take place at teaching hospitals in the U.S. and Canada.
The MUA campus is fully equipped with multi-media classrooms and labs, on-line/traditional library and information resources--all supported by a modern information technology infrastructure and systems. The entire campus is wireless.
Our approach to learning is to keep class sizes small to supportĀ the one-on-one interaction that is critical to academic success.
Upon completion of the first five semesters, MUA students are ready for their first major licensing exam (i.e., the USMLE Step 1) and your clinical training. MUA is affiliated with a wide range of ACGME-approved clinical programs in the U.S. and Canada--see a partial list. Upon successful completion of your clinicals, you now have your M.D. and are ready for your residency placement. MUA students have doneĀ extremely well in the "residency match" obtaining coveted spots in subspecialties at top facilities such as the Cleveland Clinic. See recent Residency Matches.
