Our Students

The vast majority of students who select Medical University of the Americas for their medical education are graduates of U.S. and Canadian colleges and universities.

There are many reasons why the MUA program is so appealing to North American students--here are just a few of them:

Academic Program--From your first semester in Gross Anatomy to the shelf exams at the end of the Basic Sciences curriculum, MUA offers a structured, rigorous academic curriculum taught in English that models closely what you will find at medical schools in the U.S. or Canada.

Preparation for Licensing Exams--At MUA, we focus on preparing you for the critical licensing exams required to become a practicing M.D.

Clinicals--Medical University of the Americas has an extensive clinical program in conjunction with ACGME-approved teaching hospitals throughout the United States and Canada.

Cost--Medical education is expensive, typically requiring students and their families to seek financing.  MUA is proud to offer a tuiton that makes it possible for our students to obtain their M.D. with far less indebtedness than most other medical schools.

Convenience--Let's face it, attending medical school is hard enough. Traveling there shouldn't be difficult. The MUA campus is located on the island of Nevis, just 200 miles from Puerto Rico (a major entryway to the Caribbean).  Nevis is also the neighboring island to St. Kitts, which is served by direct flights from the U.S.

Nevis--For many students, the island of Nevis itself makes MUA a top choice for medical school. Beautiful and safe, Nevis is a great place to concentrate on your studies but also offers plenty of opportunity for relaxation when time allows.
