MUA Graduate Dr. Rushabh M. Vakharia
Intern in Orthopaedic Surgery at Maimonides Medical Center
He has written extensively in the field of Orthopaedics with over 50 publications, and is currently applying for a research grant to educate residents on augmented reality/virtual reality as a way to save on costs in the operating room. His contributions have led him to become a reviewer for the Journal of Arthroplasty, Journal of Hip Surgery, and Journal of Knee Surgery.
A recent collaboration with Maimonides Medical Center and Duke University demonstrated outcomes of patients with Paget's Disease undergoing hip replacements was published in a weekly orthopaedics newsletter.
Dr. Vakharia wishes to pursue a fellowship in adult reconstruction implementing robotic-technology to aid in total knee and total hip replacements, and pursue an academician role of being in private practice and continue basic science and clinical-based research.
