Brenda Roman - Associate Dean MUA

Brenda Roman, MD

Dr. Brenda Roman brings 30 years of experience as an educator, clinician and researcher to her role as the Associate Dean of Basic Sciences. She received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and completed her residency in psychiatry at the University of Cincinnati Hospital system. She then joined the faculty at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine, where she served for nearly 20 years as Director of Medical Education in Psychiatry and pioneered the teaching modalities of Team-Based Learning and Peer Instruction. While serving as an assistant dean, she led the development of a lecture-free curriculum. She was also the Founding Chair of the Department of Medical Education, and served as the Associate Dean for Medical Education for four years at Boonshoft SOM.
Faculty Member - Dr. Robert Roman

Robert Roman, MD

Dr. Robert Roman is an experienced practitioner in the fields of both medical care and education. He practiced general orthopedics as a board-certified orthopedic surgeon for 30 years in southwest Ohio, performing both trauma and elective cases. He has also owned and managed a single specialty group practice, an outpatient surgery center and an MRI imaging center. Currently, he teaches anatomy, clinical sciences and medicine, and serves as the faculty advisor for the Surgery Club. He is passionate about providing enriching clinical experiences for future physicians during the Basic Science portion of their medical school education.
