Congrats to Our MD Graduates!

We are so proud to celebrate those who walked across this year’s Commencement stage.

Every year, Medical University of the Americas (MUA), a member of GUS Medical & Veterinary Schools (GUS Med & Vet), proudly celebrates our brand new Doctors of Medicine at Commencement. In June, our 2025 ceremony was held at the Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Rhode Island, U.S.

This meaningful celebration marks the moment when years of hard work and commitment pay off for our MD program graduates, and they can finally call themselves medical doctors!

On behalf of everyone at MUA and GUS Med & Vet, we would like to share our deepest appreciation for our brand-new alumni and everything they’ve achieved.

We can’t wait to see how they will impact the field of medicine in the years to come as they develop successful careers as practicing physicians and healthcare leaders.

A notable highlight from this year’s event was the keynote speaker, Dhanjit Litt, MD, a General Internist, Program Chief & Medical Director at Trillium Health Partners, and Partner and Chief Medical & Wellness Officer at HealthOne. To learn more about him, listen to his recent appearance on The White Coat Network Podcast

Dr. Litt is an alumnus of our fellow GUS Med & Vet institution, Saba University School of Medicine, and he shared the following words of hope and inspiration with those in attendance: “I walked across a very similar stage 14 years ago and doing so gave me an opportunity to make my dreams come true. That same opportunity is being handed to you today. I hope that you will accept this next challenge in healing our systems of care – know that through this challenge, you can make your dreams come true!”

After Dr. Litt, our very own student speaker, Andrea McDonald, MD, continued in the uplifting spirit of things by sharing: “Many of us had careers we left behind…but one thing I heard repeatedly was that ‘the dream of becoming a doctor was always there’ – we just needed the opportunity to try. MUA was the pathway we needed to get our MD, but we didn’t do it alone!”

Thank you so much to Dr. Litt and Dr. McDonald for their wisdom, empathy and commitment to care, and congratulations to all of our 2025 graduates!
