Cambridge Seminars College Partnership Agreement

Medical education pathway agreement benefits aspiring physicians in the United Kingdom.

Medical University of the Americas (MUA) and Cambridge Seminars College (CSC), a teaching institution in the U.K. offering foundation, A-level and pre-university academic programs, are pleased to share the details of their new educational partnership. In support of future doctors who wish to pursue medical school, this pathway will provide eligible CSC graduates with direct entry* into MUA’s 5-Year BSc/MD Program, which grants both a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biomedical Science degree and a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree.

As part of the agreement, qualified CSC graduates who successfully complete the Foundations in Medicine Program, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 out of 4-point scale (75%) (or equivalent), can progress directly into MUA’s 5-Year BSc/MD Program (three semesters of pre-medical learning and 10 semesters in the MD program). Successful pathway participants will achieve their BSc and MD degrees much sooner than the traditional four years of undergraduate studies plus four years of medical school pathway, saving them notable amounts of time and money on their medical career journeys. Eligible Cambridge graduates will also benefit from MD program financial support (grants and scholarships), access to cost-effective tuition rates, and the opportunity to undertake Clinical Medicine rotations in the U.S. (core and electives) and Canada (select electives).

Principal of the college, Phil Scherb, said: “We are delighted to secure this pathway for our students, as MUA exemplifies and shares our commitment to academic excellence and a student-centered approach to educating the individual. It is reassuring to be able to help our brightest and best students progress to a trusted partner, where we know they will be both nurtured and challenged, and fully prepared for a career in the world of medicine. We look forward to working closely with MUA to help the students of today become the doctors of tomorrow.”

“We are proud to announce our new partnership with Cambridge Seminars College in the U.K., a respected institution known for preparing students through foundation pathways,” shared Dr. Dona Rimanishta, Partnerships Coordinator for MUA. “In an era where the world needs more doctors than ever, CSC is taking an important step with us in contributing to the future of healthcare. By supporting students on their journeys to becoming medical professionals, they share our mission and commitment to shaping the next generation of practicing physicians.”

Students attending MUA experience an expansive medical education rooted in our commitment to individualized support and hands-on training. MD and pre-med program participants experience regular access to dedicated faculty members, support services and academic mentors, helping them acclimate to the demands of medical school and achieve their learning goals. Notably, pre-med students learn from instructors who also teach in the MD program, which provides them with crucial information and understanding of what it takes to succeed. MUA graduates go on to earn North American residency placements at high rates and practice in the U.S., Canada and internationally.

*To receive direct entry, Cambridge Seminars College graduates must submit an application, share relevant academic transcripts, satisfactorily complete an interview with the MUA admissions team, provide two letters of recommendation and write a personal statement (500 words max.).
