New Medical Elective Now Available in Canada

We now offer an aesthetic medicine elective opportunity in Ottawa.

Medical University of the Americas (MUA) is pleased to highlight the launch of a new elective opportunity called Advanced Aesthetic Medicine, our newest offering for aspiring physicians in the Clinical Medicine portion of our 4-year MD program.

Established in partnership with Victoria Park Medispa Ottawa, this collaboration provides our future Doctors of Medicine with the chance to gain in-person experience in aesthetic medicine alongside experienced plastic surgeons, dermatologists and specialized nursing staff.

“We are thrilled to introduce the Advanced Aesthetic Medicine elective in partnership with Victoria Park Medispa in Ottawa,” shared the Honourable Chuck Furey, Vice President, Business Development, Government Relations & Canadian Admissions for MUA. “This collaboration reflects Medical University of the Americas’ commitment to providing our learners with access to cutting-edge clinical training led by nationally recognized experts.”

Instruction during this elective will be led by Chris Sibley, MD, a Canadian dermatologist with a great deal of experience in both medical and cosmetic dermatology.

The establishment of this elective reflects MUA’s commitment to enriching Canadian healthcare and supporting the next generation of medical doctors in Canada. It is aligned with recent efforts to enhance our MD program’s accessibility by allowing eligible citizens to pay in Canadian dollars (CAD), and creating new medical education pathways in Ontario, such as our partnership with the University of Niagara Falls Canada.
