University of Westminster (UoW) Partnership Agreement
New pathway creates MD opportunities for UoW Medical Sciences graduates.
Medical University of the Americas (MUA) is excited to announce a new pathway partnership agreement with the University of Westminster (UoW), creating a new opportunity for eligible UoW Medical Sciences graduates who aspire to pursue a career in medicine.
Through this partnership, eligible UoW Medical Sciences BSc Honours graduates who achieve a minimum Upper Second-Class Honours (2:1) will have the opportunity to apply to MUA’s Doctor of Medicine (MD) program under the partnership agreement, subject to meeting the program’s additional admission requirements. MUA’s Admissions Team will provide support throughout the application and transition process.
Eligible UoW Medical Sciences graduates will receive a $1,000 USD tuition scholarship per semester, totaling $10,000 USD over ten semesters. Graduates are also eligible to apply for additional scholarships, offering further opportunities to help offset the cost of their medical education.
“The progression partnership represents an exciting opportunity for our graduates who aspire to pursue a career in medicine or veterinary medicine,” Dr. Manal Mohammed, Co-Course Leader for the Medical Sciences BSc Honours course at UoW shared. “Our Medical Sciences degree provides students with a strong foundation in the biomedical and clinical sciences, together with the academic, practical and professional skills required for further study in healthcare-related disciplines. The partnership with GUS builds on this foundation by providing eligible graduates with a clear international pathway to further professional education in medicine or veterinary medicine.”
“Partnering with the University of Westminster allows us to build on the strong academic foundation its graduates have already developed and create a clear pathway into medical and veterinary education,” said Nigel Garratt, Director, International Partnerships for GUS Medical & Veterinary Schools.
“We value the opportunity to work alongside an institution with a strong commitment to student development and to support qualified graduates as they take this next step. Through this partnership, students can continue their academic journey while preparing for meaningful careers in medicine and veterinary medicine.”
UoW is a diverse and internationally focused university in London, England, offering undergraduate and postgraduate programs across a range of disciplines. Its Medical Sciences programs provide students with an academic foundation relevant to further study and careers across healthcare and related fields. Through this collaboration, eligible UoW Medical Sciences graduates will have access to a dedicated pathway toward medical education at Medical University of the Americas.
Located on the island of Nevis in the Caribbean, MUA offers a student-centered MD program that combines dedicated faculty, hands-on learning and resources designed to support students throughout their medical education. Since its founding in 1998, more than 1,800+ students have earned their MD degrees, with graduates going on to practice medicine across the U.S., Canada and internationally. MUA’s MD program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission on Colleges of Medicine (ACCM), which is recognized by the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME).
Through this partnership, MUA and UoW are committed to expanding access to medical education and supporting qualified graduates as they take the next step toward becoming physicians.
