Sister Nivedita University Partnership Agreement

New pathway agreement will benefit aspiring physicians in Kolkata, India.

Medical University of the Americas (MUA) and Sister Nivedita University (SNU), an educational institution in Kolkata, India, are proud to share a new partnership that will enhance the medical school opportunities for future doctors. Beneficially, this pathway will provide SNU graduates who have successfully achieved the Pre-Medical Science Certificate* with direct entry** into MUA’s 4-Year Doctor of Medicine (MD) Program!

Students who successfully complete the SNU pre-med program will earn 47 credits, which will be transferable to MUA and allow progression into the 10-semester MD program (encompassing the Basic Science and Clinical Medicine programs). These credits are mapped against the following five core competencies:

  1. Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems
  2. Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems
  3. Social and Biological Foundations of Behaviour
  4. Scientific Inquiry and Reasoning
  5. Communications Skills

These competencies are designed to help aspiring physicians further develop the science-based knowledge, critical thinking skills and interpersonal abilities they need to succeed as MD students and future doctors.

“At Sister Nivedita University, we believe global collaborations are key to shaping future-ready healthcare leaders. Our partnership with the Medical University of the Americas will give students access to world-class opportunities, combining knowledge, innovation and compassion to create doctors who can serve across borders with excellence.” said Prof. (Dr.) Sanku Bose, Vice Chancellor, Sister Nivedita University & Group CEO, Techno India Group.

“We are proud to announce our new partnership with Sister Nivedita University in India, a dynamic institution recognized for its commitment to academic excellence and innovation in higher education,” shared Sucharitha Konda, Business Development Coordinator for MUA. “This collaboration reflects our shared vision of creating more accessible pathways to medical education. By joining forces, we are opening new doors for aspiring physicians from India to pursue their dreams and contribute meaningfully to global healthcare.”

MUA is committed to making our expansive medical education more accessible to students from around the world – we proudly offer notably cost-effective tuition and administrative fee rates, as well as helpful grants and scholarships. Excitingly, eligible MD program participants from India can access up to $27,500 USD in financial support. Additionally, they will benefit from MUA’s commitment to early hands-on learning, dedicated faculty, Student Support Services, and Clinical Medicine rotations in the U.S. (core and electives) and Canada (select electives).

We look forward to welcoming SNU students to Nevis for Basic Science and seeing everything they will accomplish in medicine!

*Successful completion means achieving a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in the Pre-Medical Science Certificate program and successfully completing all courses in the program with no failed subjects.
**To receive direct entry, SNU Pre-Medical Science Certificate program graduates must submit an application, submit a valid 10+2 certificate or equivalent high school diploma, submit high school and SNU transcripts, satisfactorily complete an interview with the MUA admissions team, provide two letters of recommendation and submit a personal statement.
