Wisdom House College Partnership Agreement
New educational collaboration benefits future medical doctors and health leaders in Magodo, Lagos.
Medical University of the Americas (MUA) and Wisdom House College, a model Sixth Form College with both secondary school and University Foundation programs, are excited to highlight the establishment of this new medical education pathway agreement. In support of aspiring physicians in Lagos who wish to earn their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degrees, this opportunity will provide eligible Wisdom House graduates with direct entry* into MUA’s 5-Year BSc/MD Program, which grants a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biomedical Science degree and an MD degree.
This program consists of three pre-med semesters, conducted in-person on Nevis or online, followed by 10 MD semesters that are divided evenly between the Basic Science and Clinical Medicine programs. Basic Science consists of five semesters of classroom and lab-based learning on our Nevis campus, and Clinical Medicine consists of five semesters of rotations at affiliated teaching hospitals, clinics and medical centers in the U.S., and select elective rotation sites in Canada.

Wisdom House applicants are eligible for the 5-Year BSc/MD Program if they meet one of the following criteria:
- Successfully completed three Cambridge A-Level subjects in Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Math offered at Wisdom House College.
- Successfully completed the University Foundation Program offered at Wisdom House College.
Abidemi Oyeniran, Executive Director of Wisdom House, shared: “Wisdom House College is a reputable educational institution providing sixth-form education to students. The college provides high-quality sixth-form education and creates opportunities for students to access top universities globally.”
“We’re thrilled to announce our new partnership with Wisdom House College in Lagos,” said Sucharitha Konda, Business Development Coordinator. “At MUA, we are dedicated to empowering ambitious students from around the world to pursue their dreams of becoming skilled, compassionate physicians. This collaboration will open new doors for Nigerian students, creating a clearer and more supported pathway into our rigorous MD program. We look forward to seeing these future doctors thrive and make meaningful contributions to global healthcare.”
Medical University of the Americas students benefit from comprehensive instruction and hands-on training, individualized support from faculty and student service providers, and access to financial support via grants and scholarships (up to $27,500 USD for international applicants). On our Basic Science campus, they will join a diverse and accepting community that enriches the medical student experience, and during rotations they are able to learn and make connections across North America. MUA graduates go on to earn residency placements at high rates and practice in the U.S., Canada and internationally.
*To receive direct entry, Wisdom House graduates must submit an application, share relevant academic transcripts, satisfactorily complete an interview with the MUA admissions team, provide two letters of recommendation and write a personal statement (500 words max.).
